What is Polyurea? An ultra-durable and fast-curing waterproofing and coating technology.

Polyurea is a two-component, fast-curing coating and waterproofing system distinguished by its high elasticity, abrasion resistance, and water impermeability. Applied by spraying using reactive spray technology, polyurea provides superior performance in a wide range of applications, from industrial floors to roofs and terraces, water tanks to bridges.

 

Where is polyurea used?

Polyurea systems are preferred for both waterproofing and surface protection in the following areas:

  • Waterproofing for terraces, balconies and roofs.
  • Parking and industrial floor coverings
  • Water storage facilities, drinking water tanks, and pools.
  • Bridge, viaduct and infrastructure surfaces

What are the types of polyurea?

1. Pure Polyurea:
This type offers the fastest curing and highest physical strength. It is suitable for demanding industrial and infrastructure applications.

2. Hybrid Polyurea (Polyurea Hybrid)
• Contains polyurethane additive. More economical and more flexible to apply. • Commonly used in areas such as terraces, parking lots, and warehouses.

3. Flame Retardant Polyurea:
Used in areas with high fire risk.
Can achieve B1-B2 fire classes with special formulations.

Does polyurea application require special equipment?

Yes. The application requires high-pressure, temperature-controlled polyurea spray machines and a specialized team.

Is polyurea UV resistant?

Standard polyurea has limited resistance to UV light. However, this resistance can be increased with formulations containing UV stabilizers.

How long will it take to be available?

The surface dries within minutes. Traffic can usually resume within 30–60 minutes.

Can it be applied directly to concrete?

The surface must be primed and be clean, dry, and sound. Special polyurea primers are used to increase adhesion.
