What are acrylic-based adhesives? Where and why are they used?

In the construction industry, the bond strength between materials is critical for the durability of the application. In this context,  acrylic-based adhesives stand out as a group of adhesives with their water-based, environmentally friendly, and easy-to-apply formulas. These products, which have a wide range of applications in both indoor and outdoor settings, are ideal for light to medium load assembly processes.

What is acrylic-based adhesive?

Acrylic-based adhesive is a type of single-component adhesive, usually water-based, whose main binder component is acrylic resins. Once dry, it forms a flexible, durable, and elastic film layer, providing strong adhesion to the applied surfaces.

Application Areas

Acrylic-based adhesives are suitable for a wide range of applications and are preferred in the following areas:

  • Wet areas (kitchen, bathroom)

  • In drywall and panel installations

  • On wood, MDF, and particle board surfaces.

  • Wall panel and skirting board applications.

  • For fixing heat and sound insulation panels.

  • In decorative coatings

  • In the assembly of lightweight structural elements
